Native American

Jan and Lane have bought, sold, collected, researched, taught, conserved and written about Native American arts for decades. In fact, Lane made his first piece of silver jewelry at the age of twelve in the basement of the Old Cherokee Indian Boarding School when he was twelve years old.

While we are intrigued by all of the Native Arts of North America, we focus primarily, of course, on the Southwest, with an emphasis on weaving, jewelry and pottery. But we continue learn about basketry and beadwork and the traditional painting of the1930s from the Santa Fe Indian School and the Kiowa Five (really six) from the University of Oklahoma School of Art.
