Paintings and Prints
We choose historic paintings from the Southwest that capture the light, landscape, people and the architecture of New Mexico.
We are interested in those artists who worked in New Mexico and the Southwest even if they were passing through. We would seldom have access to the Taos Founder paintings but can make inquiries for you. There were a number of artist/printmakers in New Mexico and their work is quite good. Baumann and Kloss readily come to mind. Works done during the WPA Period of the 1930s are historically interesting and numerous artists, well-known and lesser-known are available. We are appreciative of the work of Native American artists, the San Ildefonso pioneers and the later graduates of the Santa Fe Indian School program under Dorothy Dunn in the 1930s.
